The Honda Civic has continued its reign as a must-drive compact sedan for some time, and the newest Civic on the 2016 market has stepped up its game yet again. It now stands reinvented with daring new looks, turbocharged power and an interior that’s juiced with technology. Here are some of the new-to-2016 features found in the Civic.

Size: The Civic may be ôcompact in size, but that doesn’t mean it lacks space. This is especially true of the 2016 Civic. It is now three inches longer, two inches wider and has a longer wheel base. This may sound minimal, but really does make for some extra space. Even those of six feet can easily find comfort - a hard quality to come by in a compact sedan.

Technology: In today’s world, technology is the norm - there’s no denying it. So having a car where passengers can get all of the must-have tech features is on the forefront for most consumers; the 2016 is definitely designed to please this tech-savvy world. Content ranges from Bluetooth phone and audio to multifunction trip computers and satellite and HD radio. The most appealing is surely the seven-inch touchscreen interface with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SMS voice-to-text functionality and smartphone-app integration. This interface is user friendly as well as responsive, which gets it mega props from anyone who uses it.

Trims: There are five trim levels to choose from on the 2016 Civic lineup: LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L and Touring. All are packed full of content, even lower-level trims that feature above-average items. The base-level LX, for example, comes with automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, expanded-view driver-side mirror and automatic climate control. Electronics are even nicer than many base trims with a list that includes a five-inch central touchscreen, rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and four-speaker sound system with USB port and Pandora connectivity.

The Civic also offers some sports appeal with its EX-T trim. It’s more powerful with its turbocharged engine, rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and also boasts foglights and rear spoiler.

If you are looking for the mega list in terms of content, the top Touring trim will suit you well with everything from automatic wipers and power front seats to navigation system with voice controls and 10-speaker sound system. One perk on this trim that’s worth noting is the Honda Sensing safety package. It includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and intervention system, plus forward-collision alert with automatic emergency braking. It never hurts to be safe and this package definitely provides that.
