For a Top-Shelf Compact SUV, Make it Honda’s 2015 CR-V

Honda CR-V

Dreaming of a top-shelf compact SUV? Make it the Honda 2015 CR-V. The CR-V features a class-leading formula of exceptional fuel economy, abundant passenger and cargo room, and piles of alluring technology and safety features. Honda brought several new features to the 2015 CR-V, including a direct-injected four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission (CVT), refreshed exterior styling, rear climate vents and front console armrest. There is also a brand-new Touring trim level that boasts additional safety technologies to help keep you at your safest on the road.

The CR-V houses one of the most practical interiors with an attractive soft-touch dashboard with upscale simulated stitching. The design is well laid out making everything easy to locate, as well as use. The center console features a more traditional design, allowing the storage of several smaller items instead of a deep bin that could swallow an entire purse. The CR-V also offers an abundance of space due to front seats that have good adjustability and rear seats that recline. The cargo areas of the CR-V are very space-friendly, carrying 35.2 cubic feet behind rear seats. This space features a low load floor and boxy shape, which makes loading and unloading storage easy. Max cargo capacity measures a top figure of 70.9 cubic feet.

Wondering about power? Honda equipped the 2015 CR-V with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a newly added CVT. This combo makes the CR-V quite speedy with a quicker-than-average zero-to-60 mph time of 8.8 seconds. All models of the CR-V also features revised suspension tuning, which creates a more upbeat, smooth ride, and with improved insulation, the cabin is super quiet.

There are four trim levels available on the 2015 lineup of the Honda CR-V - the LX, EX, EX-L and Touring. The base LX trim comes with 16-inch steel wheels, full power accessories, height-adjustable driver seat and tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Electronics, include: Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and four-speaker sound system with CD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB audio interface and Pandora Internet radio compatibility. Also standard is a rearview camera.

The EX leads the way for the rest of the CR-V lineup in safety features, electronics and added content. Wheels are 17-inch alloy, headlights are automatic with LED running lights, and it also has fog lights, keyless entry and ignition, eight-way power driver seat and heated front seats. Safety features, include a blind-spot monitoring system with camera that shows the passenger blind spot and there is also a seven-inch touchscreen that provides great guidelines for the rearview camera and a six-speaker sound system with extra USB port.

Skipping up the 2015 lineup to the top Touring trim, you’ll find even more content, like 18-inch wheels, projector-beam headlights, power lift gate, adaptive cruise control, driver-seat memory settings and HD radio. Safety features on the Touring, include a navigation system and forward-collision mitigation and lane-departure warning systems.
