For a Home-Run Hitter, Opt for the 2015 Honda Accord

Honda Accord

Honda hit a home run with their Accord - a top-selling family sedan for the past thirty years. They’ve continued to hit another homer with the Accord’s 2015 lineup. What makes the Accord such a victory? A high-quality interior, refined and efficient power trains, quick acceleration and responsive handling are just a few of the standout qualities found in this ride. Continue reading to learn even more.

The 2015 Accord is available in sedan and coupe body styles and comes with a healthy list of trim levels to choose from. The base LX comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, full power accessories, cruise control and tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Rear seats are one-piece folding and the driver seat is height adjustable. Electronics include an eight-inch infotainment display, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, four-speaker sound system with CD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB audio interface and Pandora Internet radio control. Also included is a rearview safety camera.

If you want a bit more power, the Sport trim houses more horsepower. Wheels are 18 inches, driver seat is eight-way power adjustable, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with shift paddles for the continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Accord’s EX trim builds off the base LX and adds features, such as: 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, power driver seat and leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also sports a sunroof. Electronics gain a six-speaker sound system and Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot display for increased safety.

Gaining many niceties is the EX-L and EX-L with Navi. Included on these trims is upscale level upholstery, driver-seat memory functions, heated front seats and auto-dimming rearview mirror. Safety features include both forward-collision and lane-departure warning systems. The front passenger gains increased comfort with a four-way power-adjustable seat. Technology is increased on these two trims, too, with a more sophisticated rearview camera and premium seven-speaker sound system with six-inch touchscreen display, satellite radio and smartphone app integration. The EX-L with Navi trim adds a navigation system with voice recognition.

All Accords on the 2015 lineup come standard with front-wheel drive and house one of two engines. Standard on most is a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder with six-speed manual; the four-cylinder EX-L, however, features a CVT which takes the place of a conventional automatic. This combo is also one of the quickest in its class, sprinting from zero-to-60 mph in 7.8 seconds. The Accord’s V6 engines are even faster, timing just 6.1 seconds.

The 2015 Accord offers a safe experience on the road with each model coming equipped with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags, and side curtain airbags. All models also include a rearview camera. Honda does a good job keeping up with the safety features found on the market, too, with upper trim levels boasting blind-spot, lane-departure and forward-collision warning systems.
