There’s plenty to love about the 2015 Honda Pilot. From eight-passenger capacity to excellent cargo space and comfortable ride quality. If you’re in the market for a family hauler, check out this ride.
The 2015 pilot lineup is made up of five trim levels, each offering solid equipment and features to provide a good experience for everyone onboard. Starting out the lineup is the LX. It rides on 17-inch steel wheels and includes, keyless entry, cruise control, tri-zone automatic climate control, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and height-adjustable driver seat. Also included is a trailer hitch, which is convenient for family vacations. Technology, though fairly basic, will please most everyone with content, like Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, eight-inch display screen, and seven-speaker sound system with CD player, auxiliary audio jack and iPod/USB audio interface.
Strolling up a few notches of the Pilot lineup to the EX-L means lots of upgrades and even some family-friendly content. This trim features niceties, such as a sunroof, satellite radio, power lift gate, heated front seats and leather upholstery. It also comes with a rear-seat entertainment system that will please those in the backseat, especially on long drives. If you like optional add-ons, the EX-L offers a great one: a navigation system with voice controls, subwoofer, 15GB of digital music storage, and customizable vehicle settings, like door locking, lighting, and more.
Safety is important no matter what you drive, but it becomes even more crucial when toting around a large number of people. That’s why Honda equips the Pilot with solid safety gear to help keep you and your passengers safe on the road. Every 2015 Pilot comes with antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and front active head restraints. Also included on all models is a rearview camera. Along with great safety equipment, the Pilot received good crash test scores. In government crash testing, the Pilot scored four-out-of-five stars in overall crash protection, four stars in total frontal-impact safety, and five stars in total side-impact safety. The Pilot also received top scores in several tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), including: moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact, roof-strength and whiplash protection.
