Honda CR-V

The 2015 Honda CR-V has been a favorite among SUV shoppers for some time. And with Honda’s carefully-crafted formula for the 2015 models, the CR-V continues to be a class leader in top-shelf compact SUVs.

Honda enhances the newest CR-V with freshed exterior styling, richer feature content, front console armrest and rear climate vents. It also gains tech upgrades with a seven-inch touchscreen that links to a LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system on upper trim levels. There is also a new high-end Touring trim that features additional safety technologies.

What’s most appealing is Honda’s decision to equip the CR-V with a direct-injected four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission (CVT). This revised 2.4-liter engine results in a more exhilarating driving experience, plus it means much higher fuel efficiency that makes the 2015 CR-V among the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid crossovers on the market.

While all of the new perks found in the 2015 CR-V are great and help increase its appeal even further, most of what’s loved about the CR-V is what’s been there all along - low cost and high resale value. If either of these pros appeal to you, continue reading.

Resale value is a major bonus for consumers, especially those that only plan to keep a car for a few years. Here are a few helpful tips to maximize the resale value of your Honda CR-V.

Buy a Value-Holding Vehicle: If you’ve purchased Honda’s CR-V, you’ve already done this important and helpful tip. Good job! There are many factors that influence a vehicle’s resale value, including desirability and reliability. A vehicle’s brand also plays a large role in resale value - the Honda brand being one that holds it value well.

Choose Content Wisely: When it comes to car content, some things hurt while others help. Two things that will help increase resale value is air conditioning and a sunroof. Extra packages and add-ons can be a lot of fun and can really personalize a vehicle to fit your own personality, however, this can pose a problem when it comes to resale value. You might love a 12-speaker sound system or DVD player, but most people don’t want to shell out extra cash for gadgets in a used vehicle. Moderate content is always best for good resale value.

Drive Safe: Being a safe driver is obviously a must when it comes to safety for you and others, but it is also important if you want your vehicle to have a good resale value. Any history of collision damage can put a dent in value. If your car is in a collision, be sure to have repairs done by an experienced and reputable repair shop; also insist on using factory parts.

Keep it Clean: A clean car - inside and out - is a must in order to keep resale value high. Washing and waxing on a regular basis will help protect paint and prevent oxidation and peeling. Be sure to avoid any interior stains, too. Pet hair and the smell of stale cigarette smoke are also damaging to resale value, so avoid both at all costs.

2015-Honda-Fit

Honda Fit

The 2015 Honda Fit stands as one of the top choices in the subcompact car segment due to its unmatched versatility, quick acceleration, high fuel economy and exuberant space. After a one-year hiatus in 2014, the Fit is back this year - fully redesigned and maintaining its reign on top.

The 2015 Fit received mega improvements in its interior with a newly modernized and updated vibe. It’s also roomier than ever due to Honda’s unique rear seat design. This cleverly designed 60/40-split ôMagic rear seat is what separates the Fit from the rest of the pack. It allows the seat bottom to be flipped up, creating a narrow, floor-to-roof space that can accommodate taller items that would typically be impossible in a car of its size. The Fit can actually house two standing bikes, side by side in the rear seat (with front tires removed). When rear seat backs are folded down, the Fit’s load floor is flat, measuring 52.7 cubic feet of cargo room - a number that matches some small crossovers. The Fit’s front passenger seat can also fold flat to accommodate items up to eight feet long.

The 2015 Fit is available in four trim levels that all boast good, solid equipment and features, as well as up-to-date technology. The entry-level LX comes standard with 15-inch wheels, automatic headlights, cruise control, height-adjustable driver seat, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and full power accessories. Technology includes a rearview safety camera, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, five-inch display screen and four-speaker sound system with CD player, auxiliary audio jack and iPod/USB audio interface.

The mid-range EX model gets some useful upgrades, like 16-inch wheels, sunroof and keyless ignition and entry. The touchscreen interface increases to seven inches with connectivity to Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot display, six-speaker audio system with Pandora functionality, smartphone app integration and HDMI input.

For top-of-the-line appeal, the EX-L and EX-L with Navi are the best choice. These trims include upscale niceties, like heated mirrors, heated front seats and leather upholstery. The EX-L with Navi also has a navigation system with voice recognition and HD and satellite radio upgrades.

When you visit one of our many dealerships, you’ll receive top customer care and can test drive the 2015 Fit. Find us in Washington, Morgantown, South Hills and Canonsburg, PA.

When stepping further up the line to the EX, you’ll gain 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, rear disc brakes, keyless entry and ignition and sunroof. Additional electronics are also added with a seven-inch central touchscreen display and HDMI interface.

For the most upscale model of the Civic, make it an EX-L. This trim features automatic headlights, heated mirrors, foglights, leather upholstery and heated front seats. The sedan version also includes an eight-way power driver seat. Opt for the EX-L with Navi and gain even more with a navigation system, plus HD and satellite radio.

For a more fuel-efficient choice, Honda offers several models to choose from, including the Civic HF, Civic Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas. The HF comes standard with features similar to the base LX, but adds some upgrades that are designed to deliver maximum mpg. These include: low-rolling-resistance tires, aerodynamic cast aluminum wheels, rear spoiler, and wind-cheating underbody panels.

The Civic Hybrid comes with four trim levels of its own, each boasting a few add-ons, but with the benefits of a fuel-efficient hybrid. The same goes for the Civic Natural Gas, but with the benefits of natural gas.

For anyone looking for a more enthusiastic driving experience, the Civic Si is a wise choice. Honda Accord

The Honda Accord debuted in 1990 and for almost 30 years, it has stood as a top-selling family sedan. The newest models of the Accord’s 2015 lineup continue this reign.

The 2015 Accord is available as a midsize sedan and coupe. It boasts several trim levels - each with either a four-cylinder or 3.5-liter V6 engine. No matter which engine is under the hood, the Accord provides an enjoyable ride, especially for drivers. The 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine is paired to a six-speed transmission and delivers power that is smooth and satisfying. Acceleration is quick and passing maneuvers are also speedy. When equipped with the 3.5-liter V6, the Accord is even faster and makes the driving experience more exhilarating - plus it keeps its impressive fuel economy.

The base four-cylinder LX rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and has dual-zone automatic climate control, full power accessories, cruise control and tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Technology includes a rearview safety camera, eight-inch infotainment display and Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity. For some tunes, there’s a four-speaker sound system with CD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB audio interface and Pandora Internet radio control.

The Sport trim comes with more prominent 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. Comfort is also increased with an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar support. Another perk of the Sport is that it has more horsepower for better pep.

The Accord’s EX trim builds upon the LX adding items, such as: 17-inch wheels, heated mirrors, sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, power driver seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, six-speaker sound system and Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot display.

Opting for the EX-L trim means a gain in many upscale features. Niceties include leather upholstery, driver-seat memory functions, four-way power passenger seat and heated front seats. Safety also gets a boost with features like forward collision and lane-departure warning system and an upgraded rearview camera. Electronics also get a boost with a premium seven-speaker sound system with six-inch touchscreen display, satellite radio and smartphone app integration. If you’re interested in a navigation system with voice recognition, consider the EX-L with Navi trim.

For solid safety equipment and even some added safety bonuses, the Accord does a good job in protecting passengers on the road. Every 2015 Accord comes with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags, and side curtain airbags. All models also have a rearview camera to ensure safety when backing up. Upper trim levels gain a blind-spot, lane-departure, and forward-collision warning system.

Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot system is one of the top safety systems delivering upscale functions. It comes with an eight-inch screen display that shows a low and wide view of the passenger side of the car when the right turn signal is engaged. A camera located in the right-side mirror provides this helpful view.

Honda Accord

ôDon’t mess with success. This saying rings true for the 2015 Honda Accord. Besides a minor shuffling of standard features, the newest Accord sees no true changes. So what makes the Accord so successful? For starters, it provides a roomy and high-quality interior with lots of features, which provides passengers with an enjoyable traveling experience. For drivers, the Accord offers refined, efficient powertrains and responsive handling, plus quick acceleration, which makes it quite fun behind the wheel. On top of all that, it delivers excellent fuel economy with its 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Opt for the Accord’s Hybrid model and rocket fuel economy even higher.

While the Accord is a top contender in fuel economy, there are many ways to further save on fuel. Here are a few.

Tire Pressure: One common cause of low MPG is under-inflated tires. When tires do not have the accurate amount of air, they are prone to rolling resistance. This means the engine has to work harder in order to keep the car moving, thus lowering fuel economy in the process.

Reduce Speed: As easy as it is to do, speeding is a sure-fire way to decrease fuel economy. So stick to the speed limit and reap the benefits.

Keep it Steady: Just as it’s important to follow the speed limit, it’s just as important to keep a steady pace. Continuous up and down acceleration and braking has a negative impact on fuel economy. The best way to maintain a constant speed is to use cruise control, along with taking it slow and easy on starts and stops.

Lighten Your Load: An easy way to improve gas mileage is to lighten your load. While it’s easy to store items in your car (strollers, tools, etc.), those extra pounds really add up. So keep your car free of extra weight for optimal fuel efficiency.

Keep a Clean Air Filter: Changing a car’s air filter is one of those often-overlooked maintenance services. But in less than five minutes, you can get a new air filter, plus many rewards. Dirty air filters cause a reduction in fuel efficiency and power because the engine has to work harder, leads to lower fuel economy.
