Honda Pilot

In the market for an SUV? Look no further than the 2016 Honda Pilot. This three-row crossover is family-friendly and provides a strong combination of passenger comfort and utility, plus boasts gobs of high-tech safety features. It also now offers a brand-new trim level entitled the Elite.

There are several trims to choose from, so hop on into the Pilot and take off for a truly amazing ride.

LX trim: The LX offers all of the basic equipment and features one could ask for in a base-level trim. It comes with cruise control, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and 60/40-split-folding third row. Wheels are 18-inch alloy. Electronics include a seven-speaker sound system, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, auxiliary audio jack and USB port, plus rearview camera.

EX trim: Stepping up to the EX trim, you’ll find piles of extra worthwhile features. It comes with foglights, LED running lights, heated mirrors, and keyless entry and ignition. Headlights are automatic, the driver seat gains eight-way power adjustability, and climate control is tri-zone to keep all passengers content. The sound system gets a bold upgrade with seven speakers, two additional higher-powered USB ports, satellite radio, and Pandora Internet radio control. Also included is an eight-inch touchscreen interface, HondaLink smartphone-enabled features, and Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot camera.

EX-L trim: If you opt for the EX-L, you’ll find yourself with many added luxury features, from sunroof to power liftgate, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and upholstery to heated front seats. It also includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror and four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat.

If you enjoy optional packages and safety features, you’ll love the Sensing package. Available to the EX and EX-L trims, this package may as well wrap you and your car in bubble wrap. This bundle equips the Pilot with adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, automatic braking system, and road-departure intervention, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning intervention systems.

Elite trim: It seems hard to squeeze any more items into the 2016 Pilot, but somehow Honda makes it happen with its newly designated Elite trim. The Elite stands at the top of the Pilot lineup and can only be considered the ultimate model due to the inclusion of most all lower-trim equipment, plus its own hefty list of content. The Elite is equipped with LED headlights, automatic high-beam headlight control, and automatic windshield wipers. The Elite packs a lot of heat into the Pilot with heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row captain’s chairs and steering wheel. It also gains a panoramic sunroof, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, and HD radio. Wheels on this model jump to 20 inches. While all trims have eight-passenger seating configuration, the Elite comes with second-row captain’s chairs (opposed to a bench seat) that limit seating to seven.
