Buying a Honda comes with many perks, one being its reputation for reliability. While the new Honda Civic is reliable, that’s not all it brings to the table. It also comes with great safety scores, solid ride quality, and a healthy list of features and equipment. Here’s what you’ll get from each of the great-to-own trims of the 2015 Honda Civic.
LX: The base-level LX comes with a lengthy list of equipment and features, like 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, and cruise control. All accessories are powered, making life on the road easier. Also included is a five-inch display, rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and SMS text-messaging functionality. The sound system includes a CD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB audio interface, and Pandora radio functionality. The sedan offers four speakers, while the coupe comes with six.
SE: To add a few upgrades to the LX, opt for the SE. It provides upgraded audio with six speakers, automatic climate control, the HondaLink smartphone integration system, and a right-side camera. Wheels are 15-inch alloy.
EX: Those who get the Civic’s EX trim will enjoy automatic headlights, rear disc brakes, keyless entry and ignition, and a sunroof. Tires are larger at 16-inch alloy. The sedan gains an additional seven-inch central touchscreen display and HDMI interface; the coupe gets an upgraded seven-speaker sound system.
EX-L: The EX-L takes the EX up a notch, adding 17-inch alloy wheels, foglights, automatic headlights, heated mirrors and front seats, and leather upholstery. The sedan version also tacks on an eight-way power driver seat. If you get the EX-L with Navi, it adds just that - a navigation system. Plus, it has HD and satellite radio.
HF: To get the most in fuel economy, the HF is designed for just that purpose. It comes standard with low-rolling-resistant tires, aerodynamic cast-aluminum wheels, wind-cheating underbody panels, and a rear spoiler. This trim also comes standard with all of the features of the LX. Note - this trim is only offered in sedan.
Si: Driving enthusiast? Then the Civic Si is for you! The Si is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, foglights, unique front and rear styling, rear spoiler, bigger engine, limited-slip front differential, and sport-tuned suspension. It also gains interior upgrades. But, that’s not all. The Si has front sport seats, leather steering wheel, aluminum shift knob, simulated carbon-fiber accents, and red backlit gauges.
Safety: Since the Honda is known for high safety, here’s a look at the safety scores of the 2015 Civic.
In government crash tests, the new Civic (sedan) received a perfect five stars in overall protection, four stars in frontal-impact safety, and five stars in total side crash safety. The coupe earned four stars in overall protection, four stars in frontal, and five stars in side.
The IIHS awarded the Civic with the highest score of ôGood in small-overlap frontal-offset, moderate-overlap offset, side-impact, and roof-strength tests. It also received a ôGood rating in whiplash tests in rear impacts.
