So, you bought a new Honda. It’s an exciting experience. It’s shiny and spotless inside and out. It even has that fresh, new-car smell. Unfortunately, that brand new feel doesn’t last forever. But, the good news is that when you buy a car from Washington Honda, you are eligible for a huge list of car-care services to ensure your new car stays at the top of its game. Here are some Honda-provided services to choose from.

Oil Changes: Getting your car’s oil changed is one of the most important services you can do for your ride; it is also one of the cheapest. Oil acts as a lubricant for your car’s engine. When placed inside the engine, oil keeps the internal parts cool and running smoothly. If your car lacks the required amount of oil, these internal engine parts being to bump against each other, causing wear. Another problem that can arise if you don’t get your oil changed regularly is a buildup of dirt and sludge. This buildup can lead to contaminated oil, which does not work in the efficient manner that is needs to. This can cause expensive repairs like an engine cleaning or even an engine replacement.

There are many things that negatively affect your car’s oil, like driving in dusty or sandy areas or in hot temperatures. Even towing or sitting in traffic often can cause problems with your car’s oil. The best way to beat these problems to the punch is to get your oil changed more often.

By spending a small amount on an oil change, you could save big later, so be sure to get your oil changed on a regularly basis.

Tire Rotations: Another Honda-provided service is tire rotations. This service consists of moving each tire from one wheel to another. Why is it so important to rotate your car’s tires? Tires wear unevenly, especially front tires. By having your tires rotated every 3,000 to 6,000 miles, they will not wear down as fast, which will in turn save you money because you won’t have to replace them as soon.

Wheel Alignment: Tire rotations often go hand-in-hand with a wheel alignment. Wheels work their best when lined up straight. Unfortunately, simple driving maneuvers, bumps, and potholes in the road can cause your car’s tires to be knocked out of alignment. Wheels that are out of alignment lead to problems, like tires that wear away quickly and weakened handling and control behind the wheel.

If your car is out of alignment, it will provide clues to let you know. Some include: your car pulling to one side when driving on a straight, level road or your car feels unstable and wanders from side to side while driving.
