Do you ever feel like most cars look the same? Sometimes you just want to drive something a bit different from the norm. If you’re looking for a car that is definitely not generic, consider the Honda Pilot.

In recent years marked a full redesign for the Honda Pilot, giving it a more rugged exterior and interior, along with a more usable third-row seat. The Pilot is a midsize crossover SUV with an angular aesthetic that has proven to please consumers. Here are some of the perks you’ll love about the Pilot.

Offered in front-wheel or all-wheel drive, the Pilot is available in four purchase-worthy trims. Here’s a peek at what each offers.

LX: Standard with power side mirrors, keyless entry, and full power accessories, the LX is already heads above other used car base-level trims. This trim provides a few more things, like cruise control, third-row seating, and a seven-speaker CD/MP3 audio system with auxiliary input jack.

EX: The Pilot EX adds onto the equipment and features of the LX, plus has several extras fit to please. Some include: fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, power driver seat, in-dash six-CD changer, and satellite radio.

EX-L: This trim adds a hint more luxury to its appeal with several great touches - leather upholstery, heated front seats, sunroof, and rearview mirror-mounted back-up camera.

Touring: Want high-end? You’ll get it with the Pilot’s Touring trim. It offers a 10-speaker audio system, navigation system with voice recognition, and integrated back-up camera. Also included is Bluetooth connectivity, power liftgate, and USB audio interface.

Hoping to entertain kids in the backseat? You may be in luck. EX-L and Touring trims can be found with a DVD rear-seat entertainment system with 10-speaker audio system.

Inside: Climb into the Pilot and you’ll find an attractive interior with the same rugged appeal found in the exterior. Display screen and navigation system sits at hand-level, making it low, yet easy to use. Third-row seating is very roomy, even for tall adults, providing an extra 1.8-inches of legroom - compared to previous editions.

Behind the wheel, drivers will be confident on pavement, as well as during light-duty, off-road tasks. Its soft suspension makes for a comfortable ride whether on highway or rough roads, and steering is nicely weighted and reasonably precise.

Safety: You can’t beat the top scores awarded to the Honda Pilot. In government crash tests, it scored a perfect five stars in frontal- and side-impact testing. Standard safety equipment is also top-notch with antilock disk brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags.
