2013 CR-V:

The 2013 CR-V is not quite as new as the 2015 model, but it’s still current enough to be an excellent used car and still feel plenty new.

All 2013 CR-V’s come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 185 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque. You’ll find this five-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The EX bumps up the perks with fog lights and six-speaker sound system. The EX-L adds roof rails, heated side mirrors, leather upholstery and seven-speaker sound system with satellite radio. If you are hoping to stay as close to current models of the CR-V as you can – search for the EX-L with Navigation. This way you’ll at least always know where you’re going.

2010 CR-V:

The 2010 CR-V was one model that made significant changes to its previous self, like more horsepower and a bit more torque. Whether you get a 2010 LX, EX, EX-L or EX-L with Navi, you will get front- or all-wheel drive and a Bluetooth and USB audio port. With the base LX, you’ll find plenty of good features, including keyless entry and four-speaker sound system, while higher trims like the EX-L, provide heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic lights and a seven-speaker sterio with satellite radio.

2008 CR-V:

The 2008 CR-V was born when car manufacturers began to focus on better fuel efficiency. With a four-cylinder engine that provides 166 horsepower, the 2008 CR-V provides good fuel efficiency to help with today’s high gas prices. It is also one of the top-scored CR-V models in safety testing with high scores from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as well as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

2005 CR-V:

Even if you go as far back as the 2005 model of the CR-V, you will still be pleased with the results. With the 2005, you will find plenty of space, stable handling, comfortable seats and good crash-test scores. The 2005 Special Edition also has some perks, like heated leather seats and mirrors, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

Honda PilotThe 2015 Honda Pilot: a good family vehicle with several great qualities

It’s not an Accord. It’s not a Civic. But it is a Honda. Have you been introduced to the Honda Pilot? This special edition trim level of the Honda serves as a good family vehicle with several note-worthy qualities. Check out the Pilot below.

Space:

The number one boasted-about feature of the Pilot is its space. While many SUV’s claim to seat eight passengers, you’ll find that many are not truly capable of doing so; back rows are typically too small to fit adults. But, the Pilot is true to its word. Adults can actually fit in the third row without folding completely in half! The boxy shape of the Pilot also comes to its advantage, giving it a great amount of cargo room, especially for bulky items.

The Pilot comes in many trim levels that will suit most shoppers. Here’s what you’ll get with each trim:

LX:

At the base level, the LX comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, rearview privacy glass, keyless entry and rearview camera. It also includes an eight-inch display screen and seven-speaker sound system.

EX:

If you step up to the EX, you’ll get the features of the LX, but also a few more perks, like 18-inch alloy wheels and body-colored mirror caps and door handles (instead of black plastic). More seating positions are also offered with an eight-way power driver seat with two-way power lumbar support.

SE:

With the SE, the ruler of the radio doesn’t always have to be in the front seat. The Pilot SE adds a touch of rear-seat fun with an entertainment system with satellite radio.

EX-L:

The EX-L provides two options to choose from that may just make you want to bump up to this trim. With the EX-L, you can choose between a rear-seat entertainment system, or you can pick the navigation system, which includes voice controls, subwoofer, 15 GB digital music storage and customizable vehicle settings. Keep in mind, you can only choose one or the other, not both.

Touring:

The Touring trim is the top of the Pilot line and steps the vehicle up to some great features not found on any other models: roof rails, front and rear parking sensors, enhanced tire-pressure monitoring system and 10-speaker sound system. Unlike the EX-L, the Touring gets both rear seat entertainment system and navigation.

Some Other Key Facts:

Inside the Pilot, you’ll discover a useful design with thoughtful details. All trims come standard with automatic climate control and eight-inch info screen.

Storage inside the cabin is plenty, with small storage bins located throughout. There is also a fold-out net and under-floor bin that creates two tiers of extra storage located behind the third row.

While driving the Pilot you’ll get a very quiet ride, even at high speeds. The ride is also cushy, so uncomfortable bumps are kept to a minimum.

If you’re hoping for a vehicle with plenty of space and a few great details, the Pilot is a great buy. Contact Washington Honda, located in Washington and South Hills, Pennsylvania and Morgantown, West Virginia.

Get Top Safety Scores and Continuous Reliability with the 2015 Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V continues to appeal to the masses with its continuous reliability and top safety scores. If these categories fit your needs, keep reading to learn more about this must-have car.

New this Year:

The 2015 CR-V gets a few new upgrades this year, such as refreshed exterior styling and new rear-climate vents. Available in the EX trim and up is a 7-inch touch-screen that’s linked to a LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system. At the highest end, the Touring trim provides even more technologies if desired.

Under the Hood:

All of the newest models of the CR-V have now switched to the Honda Accord’s direct-injected four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission (CVT). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, the 2015 CR-V is rated at 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. All trims have the option of front- and all-wheel drive.

A Peek Inside:

Take a peek inside the newest CR-V and you’ll find a very practical cabin that provides great space for passengers and cargo. Inside holds a premium vibe due to a soft-touch dashboard with simulated stitching. Child safety LATCH anchor points in all three seating positions also make the CR-V a good family vehicle.

Included across the board is a Bluetooth (phone/audio) text-message reader with digitized voice and Pandora compatibility.

Safety:

Safety ratings for the new CR-V prove impressive. In government crash testing, the CR-V received four out of five stars in overall and frontal crash protection; it got five stars in side crash protection.

The IIHS gave the CR-V ôGood ratings in, small-overlap and moderate-overlap frontal-offset impact tests; it was also rated ôGood in side impact, roof strength and whiplash protection.

Most impressive is the ôSuperior rating the CR-V received in the optional frontal collision warning and mitigation system.

All models of the CR-V come with a rearview camera for extra safety while backing up and parking.

Want to know the basic safety equipment? Here’s a rundown:

    • anti-lock disc brakes
    • stability and traction control
    • active front head restraints
    • front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags
    • Available on upper trims: blind-spot, lane departure and forward-collision warning systems.

    Space:

There have been a few changes to storage space in the 2015 CR-V. While past models contained large storage consoles that could swallow a whole purse, storage sizes have now been reduced. While this may seem like a downgrade, it actually proves to be a plus. Why? Because smaller items like phones, pens and other gadgets are now much easier to store and find.

While new, smaller item storage has decreased a bit, cargo space behind the rear seats is large, measuring 35.2 cubic feet. Lower the rear seat-backs and the size jumps to 70.9 cubic feet; this is a top figure for the segment.
